This essay discusses the design of The White Company’s Winchester store, providing information about the company’s background and its approach to interior design and merchandise display. From an analysis of the company’s philosophy, it can be easily understood why the furniture in its stores is usually simple and its signature colour is white. In order to gain a deeper understanding of how the company’s Winchester store is organised, four elements are analysed: structure, colours, theme and materials.
